About the event

Parenting While Black is an interactive and reflective webinar that centers the lived experiences of Black parents, caregivers, and families. Together, we will walk through the legal history that has shaped Black family life (how laws disrupted kinship, regulated care, and enforced racism) while also naming the resilience, love, and community-building practices that Black caregivers have sustained across generations.
You will be encouraged to reflect, share, and connect; linking history to present-day parenting realities and caregiving practices. Through guided discussion and collective learning, we will explore how the law has entered Black homes in both visible and invisible ways, and how Black families have continually resisted, adapted, and nurtured one another in response.
